Start a skateboard company in a small town out of your one bedroom apartment with no money, no riders, and no industry connections whatsoever? Sounds like a solid plan to us. Here’s the problem, it turns out it does indeed take money to make money, especially in a business where profit margins are nominal. As you grow the money which comes back to you can’t pay for the increased production demands, not to mention profits lost once you do get a handful of riders and have to supply free products to a team of mooching dirtbags.

After borrowing friend’s children’s college funds, tapping out of favors from family, and signing up for as many credit cards as possible we’re still at the same point, unable to fund the growing demand for product. So the solution was simple - print our own money. Our goal is to sell off a big 10G in $100 stacks (100 stacks total). This is your chance to buy up as many $100 knots as you wish to help fund-forward our next round of products. Money never expires and will be good as cash for any and all of our products when buying directly from us (by mail or in person) and also redeemable at One Up Skateshop (on our products only) here on the classy southside of Pittsburgh. Think of it as a gift card, but way more labor intensive on our end, as well as being way more labor intensive for you to redeem, which will hopefully lead to you not going through the effort to redeem it, or better yet just plain losing it before you do cash it in. It’s a real win-win for us, with the only potential loss being on your end. So if you’re feeling fool-hearty enough to trade in your real money for fake money just drop us a line.

wooden skateboards and good ol’ fashioned salesmanship

The good folk at Lowcard were kind enough to let us make a small handful of these while hanging out at their headquarters back in the fall. They’re long gone…
